Montgomery Garden Tour 2025

The shady place in Julie’s and David’s garden on Orinda Drive was perfectly positioned to capture this view of their fountain.

Fortunately my watercolors did not dry up and allowed me painting while sitting under the ceiling fan on their covered porch.

The way Julie used colorful flowers in her garden reminded me of how I use colors when I paint. I felt like we were meant to meet and spend this afternoon together. My thanks to the Vorpe family, Jane Hohn, City of Montgomery and the Cincinnati Brush & Palette Painters for such a nice summer afternoon.

CNC Garden Tour June 2025

Saturday June 21, 2025, it was my privilege to be able to paint in the garden on Susann Lane.

I’ve learned the hard way, from painting outdoors every week, that I need to stay in the shade on hot days like this.

These homeowners have beautiful native trees, so it wasn’t hard to find shade.

Nestled into the hillside, the pool house and swimming pool looked very inviting and inspired me to take lots of photos for reference.

I started several paintings in both acrylics and watercolors but wasn’t able to finish anything. So I’m glad I have so many reference photos. And that I took and displayed 3 of my finished paintings so guests and visitors could see some of my work.

It was a good day and I’m happy to support the Cincinnati Nature Center by doing this!
