Painting portraits of homes like this makes me feel like I’m on vacation! When I choose a background color for my acrylics, I select one that may show clearly throughout the painting, without any glazes over it. But I also pick one that may be a complementary color to the paint I glaze over it, dulling the hue.

This is work in progress for someone who visited us at the Pendleton Art Center last FINAL FRIDAY. This month, it is next Friday, August 30 (Labor Day weekend). Almost time for the Riverfest fireworks! I didn’t get to see Luminosity at Music Hall in Washington Park this summer but I heard it was spectacular, so I hope that will become an annual event here in the city.
