Mt Adams Art Walk Sat Apr 13 2-7 pm
Rain or shine, warm or cold, I'll be at The Sweetest Thing on Hatch Street in Mount Adams joining dozens of other artists and musicians for the Mt. Adams Art Walk. There are at least 18 businesses hosting artists and musicians tomorrow, so if you're near downtown, it might be a fun thing to do. (For you sports enthusiasts, Ohio State is playing its spring football game at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnat Bengals, at 1 pm, so Mt. Adams might be a good place to grab a bite or a drink after the game. Enjoy some live music and get a little culture before you head home:)
I painted this little 5 x 7" work from photos taken at last spring's Art Walk. The clock face hides the former home of a good friend of mine, who once lived in Highland Towers, which is also home of The Celestial Restaurant. The red couch on the patio of Rookwood Pottery restaurant inspired me to start on that bright red background. And of course, I love these distinctive street clocks manufactured by Cincinnati's Verdin Company (our Pendleton Art Center landlords), so I moved one from the street in front of the couch. The original painting sold at Secret ArtWORKS 2012 but I'll be selling notecards, greeting cards, and matted prints of this work during Saturday's Art Walk. If you can't make it this month, the next one is Saturday, May 11 from 2-7 pm, so try and visit us then if you can.
